Modified Rules (Small Cars)
1. Any year car.
2. If you break a rule, you lose that rule.
3. Motor swaps are allowed.
4. You may tilt the front end, you may weld the frame with a single pass weld-Do not add any extra metal.
5.You may run solid suspension, only 2 straps per side on “A” arm -maximum of 3′ x 1/4′ x 10′ long has to run with “A” arms
6. Gas tank protectors allowed, no wider than 30 inches. It can go back to firewall, but do not beat or push sheet metal back. also all gas tanks must have back flow valve on vent side.
7. Doors and trunk can be wired or welded solid-must have (2) 8 inch holes 4 inches from quarter panel, dead center on trunk lid (on top of the trunk lid) for inspection and to see all 4 corners. No more than 1 inch overlapping with maximum 3 inch wide straps.
8. Front windshield bar is MANDATORY. No bar is allowed behind distributor protector or in front of cowl.
9. You may run 2 back windshield bars, but car cannot go more than 3 inches past rear windshield and 3 inches past rain channels. Back bar no more than 3 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick.
10. Four point cage allowed. Back bar no further back than 12 inches past driver’s seat. Side bars no further back than 1/2 way of the back doors. No halo bars. Front bar must be a minimum of 5 inches from firewall.
11. Center bar will be allowed, but cannot extend past front or back bar of cage.
12. Gas pedal cannot be used as a kicker.
13. You may replace body bolts with 1 inch all thread. All thread must be inside frame (includes nut, bolt, and washer) with 1 inch gap between body and frame.
14. Any year factory bumper allowed, special bumpers also allowed. However, no homemade pointy bumper of any kind allowed. You can weld bumper seams, weld straight to the frame, bumper shocks no longer than 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 12 in. You can reinforce front bumper ONLY on any year car. NOTE: Tech officials reserve the right to drill holes if the need arises during inspection.
15. Bumper height no height than 21 inches in front and no lower than 16 inches in back. Bumpers will be measured from bottom of the bumper to the ground.
16. You may run a distributor protector and 1 set of hump plates. Plates no longer than 22 inches and no thicker than 1/4 inch, plate must be conformed to frame in center of humps.
17. You may run one or the other A: Distributor protector kicker
B:2 kickers down behind A frame, no bigger than 2×2. you cannot run both. If you run distributor protector and 2 kickers down behind A frame, then no kicker behind distributor protector.
18. You may run a slip shaft.
19. Fan must be covered by hood. Batteries must be covered and secured.
20. You can wire bumper in 4 spots
21. You can use up to 1 inch all thread in core support. Core support mount you can used 1/4 inch angle no longer than 6 inches.
22. You may run angle iron along radiator support with a maximum 1/4 inch x 3inx3inx30in, but cannot touch all thread.
23. You can wire or bolt hood up to a maximum of 6 spots with a maximum of 1 inch all thread, however we must be able to access engine in case of fire.
24. You can run a rear-end protector, but it cannot reinforce the car in any way.
25. No double skinning the body panels. No chains-except 1 chain per side from the head to the engine cradle, no longer than 12 inches and 3/8 inch thick. You may weld motor mounts within 3 inches of factory location. Refer to rule 17 A for kicker explanation.
26. No welding of interior body seams
27. You may plate pre-ran car with 2 plates per bend, with a maximum of 6 plates- 3x3inches no thicker than 1/4 in plate. Must be able to see where car was bent or broken.
28. You can weld frame seams (single pass) from crush box forward, no wider than 1/2 inch weld
29. Roll over bar must be straight up and down
30. You can use up to (20) 5 1/16 inch bolts around cut out of hood. You are allowed a maximum of 5 (5 1/6inch) bolts in each fender well.
31. Any additional welding, bracing or bolting wheel disqualifies car. NOTE: with the exception to the rear end mounting-which should not have excessive welding.
32. No leaf spring conversion. If car came with leaf springs then leaf springs on car must be OEM.
33. 4 down legs from cage to frame (front or back) – not in crush box or humps.

4. Top 3 cars are subject to re-inspection.
5. Any controversies or protest must be brought up before drivers meeting.
6. ANY QUESTIONS CALL FIRST, IF IT DOESN’T SAY YOU CAN’T DO IT, DON’T DO IT!
7. All decisions are final.
8. All glass, plastic, and interior must be removed before arriving at the derby.

10. You can weld motor mounts to the frame and run a engine cradle.
11. You can weld a four bar cage not allowed to touch the floor or frame at any point. Back bar has to be within 12″ of the front seat. Roll over bars are preferred.
12. Must have stock body bushings and bolt size.
13 you can have a gas tank holder (NOT PROTECTOR) that is no closer than 8 inches from back seat area.
14. Battery must be moved to passenger side floor board and covered.
15. Gas tank must be moved to back seat area and covered.
16. Welding of door seems, below the window weld 5 inches on 5 inches off. No solid welding of door strips, no welding above window.
17. Trunk lids, right and left side weld 5 inches on 5 inches off. Front and back of trunk lid, may be wired in only 4 spots. 3 strands of wire on each.
18. Hood can be bolted or welded in 6 places, no angle iron on fenders and hood.
19. Bumpers can be any year and interchange. Bumpers can also be welded on. Bumper seems cannot be welded.
20. Bumper can only be 22″ in front and no lower than 16″ in the back.
21. Car suspension must have bounce, not just in tires.
22. You can change rear ends, and you can run any rear end.
23. You can put 2 bolts in fenders with a 2″ washer on the outside.
24. No welding on the frame. No plates on the frame anywhere. Only place being welded should be motor mounts and bumpers or specified.
25. Must run factory tie rods, but can weld the seam closed.
26. On pre-ran cars only, you can weld 1-3 inch by 5 inch plate ¼ inch thick per frame rail, where it is bent or broken.
27. NO frame shaping but you can hammer in spots that are blown out on pre-ran cars.
28. You can have 2 strands of wire from core support to the top of the front bumper (not in front of radiator) 2 strands of wire to the back bumper.
29. Tires round and black.
30. You must call me on any repair for pre-ran cars.
31. You can run no larger than a 3” spacer on core support for fan clearance and the spacer cannot be welded to the frame.
32. You can run ¾ inch all thread in front core support through the hood.
33. You can run a transmission protector, but the protector has to stay around the transmission, it cannot brace against the back of motor/heads or cross member.
34. Distributor protector is allowed firewall must be cut out around DP. Must be 5” away from front bar.(Pre ran cars must be equivalent to 5” rule)
