BIG CAR DERBY RULES
1. Big cars must be 1980 and newer sedans and wagons only. 2. Helmet, seatbelt, and eye protection must be worn at all times. 3. THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT MUST BE IN WORKING ORDER. 4. The judges’ decision is final. We may reject any or all entries at any time. Cars are subject to re-inspection at any time. 5. We have the right to drill or cut any car at any time. 6. If driver’s door comes open or driver gets out of car during a heat, the car will be disqualified. 7. Drivers will pay entry fee prior to the car being inspected. If you have to correct a problem, you will be given ONE chance to make it right, otherwise you will load it. 8. DOUBLE TEAMING--YOU WILL BE WARNED ONCE, SECOND TIME YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. 9. You will have a 1 minute time limit to make an aggressive hit. 10. All glass, chrome molding, hood latches, gas tanks, and rear seats must be removed before cars arrive at the fairgrounds. 11. Stock type hood must be used. Hoods must be open for inspection. Hoods must be secured in 6 places with 2” by 2” x ¼ angle. NO longer than 6”with 3/8th bolts. 12. Radiators must stay in original location. May be wired on all four corners. 13. You may run electric fan. 14. Factory condensers only. They may be wired in, not welded. 15. You may use 1” all thread in core support with 3” max spacer. 16. Gas tanks must be relocated behind driver’s seat, securely fastened and covered. Any visible leaking fuel will result in automatic disqualification. All plastic tanks must be in a steel enclosure. However, it cannot be bolted to strengthen the car. 17. Batteries must be moved to the passenger’s side floor board. The battery box cannot strengthen the car in any way. NO more than 2 batteries 18. Sunroofs have to be covered, no exceptions. Any type of fan has to be covered. 19. A welded 4-point cage can be put around driver’s compartment. It has to be no bigger than 4x6 inches and can be welded to car but not excessively. The front bar has to be 5 inches from the firewall and tunnel. You can wire cage to rails in 4 places using # 9 wire. 20. You can use after market steering column. After market tie rods, front sway bar can be bolted to lower A-arm, not to be welded to frame. 21. Transmission coolers or oil coolers are allowed. No transmission protectors at all. 22. Roll over bars are mandatory. Must be straight up and down. 23. Doors can be welded shut using 3 inch by 1/8th inch thick material. Weld 6 inches, skip 6 inches. 24. No welding on frames or body seams. This will be checked. No plated frames. 25. Factory body bolts and bushings must be stock. Broken body bolts cannot be fixed. If broken, leave broken. 26. Can pitch front rails by ONLY cutting outside flap and then pulling down and re-welding that flap with one pass of weld. 27. NO WELDING except bumpers and motor mounts. 28. Any year factory bumpers which can be welded are allowed. DEC bumpers are allowed. Loaded factory bumpers are allowed, but no extreme pointed bumpers. 12” bumper shocks are allowed. The shocks cannot be bigger than 2" square or round. 29. All cars must sit level within 5” with no car sitting lowers than 16” from the bottom of the bumpers or higher than 21” from the bottom of the bumpers. The bottom of the frame rail should be 13” to the ground. No wedge cars. 30. Car must bounce. Upper A-arm may be bolted using a 3/8th bolt in center, or wired for bumper height (no welding). 31. Cutting the ends off bumpers and fenders for clearance is permitted. 32. Motor swaps, rear end swaps, and engine cradles are allowed. 33. No protectors at all. 34. Slip shaft are allowed with rear end braces but no kicker to rails. 35. Trunk lids can be welded with 8 plates, maximum of 6” long, 1/8th x 3 “thick material with 6” of space between them. Trunk needs to be standing up until after inspection then can swag with rear quarters to remain standing. Body creasing is allowed. Window bars are allowed from back glass to lower part of speaker deck, not to truck lid in any way. This is for safety. 36. Car number must be on each side and roof of car in Fluorescent paint. ANY ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER PRINTED MATERIAL. THE DECISION OF THE JUDGES AND DERBY OFFICIALS WILL BE FINAL.

SMALL CAR RULES
1. All glass, chrome molding, hood latches, gas tanks, and rear seats must be removed before cars arrive at the fairgrounds. 2. Stock type hood must be used. Hoods must be open for inspection. Hoods must be secured in 6 places with wire only. 3. Helmet, seatbelt, and eye protection must be worn at all times. 4. THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT MUST BE IN WORKING ORDER. 5. Gas tanks must be relocated behind driver’s seat, securely fastened and covered. Any visible leaking fuel will result in automatic disqualification. All plastic tanks must be in steel enclosure. Gas tank protectors are allowed. 6. The judges’ decision is final. We may reject any or all entries at any time. Cars are subject to re-inspection at any time. 7. Wheelbase is not to exceed 108 inches. 8. Four cylinders and front wheel drive V-6. 9. Two-wheel drive uni-body only. 10. Any size tires round and black. 11. Bumper height's maximum is 21 inches and minimum of 16 inches. Car must bounce. 12. Absolutely no welding on anything other than the cage, doors, and trunk lid/hatch. 13. Plates that attach the gas tank and battery box cannot strengthen the car. 14. No kickers of any kind. 15. You absolutely cannot add any metal to strengthen the car. 16. Back bumpers can be run, but must be welded on the bumper shocks only. Cannot be welded or bolted to the body. 17. Front bumper shocks can be modified, but cannot be over 12 inches long. Maximum 1 1/2 inch material. 18. No plates added to the bumpers or anywhere else. 19. Trunk has to have a 12-inch hole. 20. Factory radiators only. No homemade allowed and cannot be used to strengthen the car. 21. Cage inside the car can have 6-inch gussets in the corners. Door bars cannot go more than 6 inches past the door past where they are welded at. Bars must be at least 6 inches off the floor. No material bigger than 4x6 inches. 22. You can run a slip shaft. 23. Trailing arms can be lengthened or shorten but no extra metal added. 24. Need 2 front windshield bars. 25. No sub-frame connectors. 26. 3 x 3 x ¼ plates (4 front 4 back—8 in all) are allowed. 27. AMC Pacers are allowed. 28. Rollover bars are mandatory. 29. Car number must be on each side and on roof in fluorescent paint. ANY ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER PRINTED MATERIAL. THE DECISION OF THE JUDGES AND DERBY OFFICIALS WILL BE FINAL.

Lawnmower Demolition Derby Rules
1. Mower must be a factory available mower lawn or garden mower (no homemade frames). 2. No rear engine lawn mowers are allowed. 3. Engine must be factory lawn mower engine such as Briggs & Stratton, Tecumseh, Onan, etc. 4. All modification and reinforcing of frame will be allowed. 5. Transaxles must be factory available mower transaxles, but any reinforcing and/or welding of spider gears is permitted. 6. Engine bay reinforcing is permitted but must be contained inside of hood and must maintain factory body lines. 7. All mowers must run a factory hood and fenders and have the hood either screwed or welded down to dash panel around drivers area (note: if hood is fiberglass you can make one out of sheet metal only, but must be the same size as the fiberglass one.) Hoods should not be any thicker than sheet metal. 8. Mowers must have good brakes, forward, and reverse gears at the start of the heat. 9. Gas tank must be secured and have a cap on it (any gas at all leaking and you will be asked to shut it down). 10. Leg guards are mandatory and must be bolted and/or welded from rear fender to front of foot rest or frame. 11. A rear bumper is permitted, but is not allowed to extend more than 4 inches out and it must stay in between the tires. Also no spikes, no sharp edges or any protrusions allowed (bumper can be home-made with I/H beam or square tubing). 12. Re-gearing and changing of pulleys to increase speed is permitted and encouraged. 13. Any and all drive-train modifications are permitted but must stay belt driven. 14. All mowers must use lawn mower type wheels. Tractor treads and cut tires will be permitted but no tire chains or dual wheels will be allowed. 15. Mower decks must be removed. 16. All headlights and any other glass and plastics must be removed before you enter the fairgrounds. 17. Batteries must be removed from mower and only used to jump start the mower before the heat begins. If a pull start is used, drivers will not be permitted to restart engine during the heat. 18. No front bumpers. You can build up the front of the frame and underneath the grill to hit with. The front of the mower must be a smooth finish for safety. 19. Roll-over driver is out of the heat. Also if a driver touches the ground with a hand or foot, the driver is also out of the heat. 20. For safety, if a mower rolls over, all drivers must stop and wait until that driver is up-rights his mower and gets off the track. 21. Please put your number on each side of your mower and hood in fluorescent paint so we can track the winners. 22. Mowers must have a kill switch. 23. All ground rules will be gone over in a drivers meet before the heat. 24. Must run pumped gas and not alcohol. Keep in mind when building your mower, safety first for you and the mower you are hitting. Before any payouts, we may ask to look inside the mower for any batteries or chain driven set ups or shafts type set ups.

i know that i am going to the derby in harrodsburg on april 13th and everyone that i have talked to is also going to the one in harrodsburg, it would be smart so take wfo13's advice

I RAN THIS DERBY AND MY HAT IS OFF TO THIS PROMOTER HE ONLY HAD 5 SMALL CARS SHOW UP AND HE STUCK TO THE RULES IF YOU WANT TO GO TO A DERBY THAT IS FAIR AS FAR AS CHECKING IN CARS HE WAS UP FRONT AND STRAIGHT STUCK TO THE RULES CANT WAIT FOR THE FAIR DERBY
