Rules are posted below: THESE RULES WILL BE FOLLOWED NO EXCEPTIONS. ENTRY FEE WILL BE TAKEN AT THE GATE AND THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS. BUILD YOUR CAR TO THE RULES YOU WONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT LOSING YOUR MONEY. RULES ARE BELOW.
1. Any Year Sedans and Wagons only. No Imperials or hearses!!
2. All glass, chrome molding, hood latches, gas tanks, and rear seats must be removed before car arrives at the fairgrounds.
3. Stock type hood must be used. Hoods must be open for inspection. Hood must be secured in 6 places with 2” by 2” x ¼ angle. NO longer than 6” with 3/8th bolts. If you use all thread through front two body bolts that is considered 2.
4. The Drivers side seat belt must be in working order.
5. Gas tanks must be relocated behind drivers seat, securely fastened and covered. Any visible leaking fluid will result in automatic disqualification. All plastic tanks must be in a steel enclosure. However, it cannot be bolted to strengthen the car.
6. Radiators must stay in original location. May be wired on all four corners.
7. You may run electric fans.
8. Batteries must be moved to the passengers side floor board. The battery box cannot strengthen the car in any way. No More than 2 batteries.
9. No welding on frames or body seams unless stated. You may weld frame seams firewall forward with one pass. You may also have four 3”x3” plates added to frame rail how ever you like. 2 per frame rail, Fresh or Pre-ran car. DO NOT weld up factory holes!! If you do we will make you open them back up.
10. Doors can be welded 6 on 6 off. Must use no bigger than a 2” x 1/8 plate/strip. Inside door seams cannot be welded.
11. Cutting the ends off bumpers and fenders for clearance is permitted.
12. All cars must sit level within 5” with no car sitting lower than 16” from the bottom of the bumper or higher than 21” from the bottom bumpers. The bottom of the frame rail should be 13” to the ground. No wedge cars. No all thread can be used for rear shocks.
13. Sunroofs have to be covered, no exceptions. Any type of fan has to be covered.
14. Factory condensers only. They may be wired in, not welded.
15. A welded 4- point cage can be put around the drivers compartment inside of the car only. It has to be no bigger than 4x6 inches and can be welded to car but no excessively. The front bar has to be 5 inches from the firewall and tunnel. Cage must be atleast 6 inches off the nearest floor board and no more than 10 inches behind the post. No KICKERS of any kind.
16. Factory body bolts and bushing must be stock. Can replace broken body bolts. All body bolts must stay in stock location. This means no shortening the front frame rail to move the front body bolt back. You may shorten in front of the front body bolt.
17. Motor swaps, rear end swaps, and engine cradles are allowed. Motor can only be chained from heads to the cradle.
18. If you run a distributor protector you must cut the firewall and the distributor protector must not touch the fire wall or dash bar in any way at the end of the derby.
19. You can use aftermarket steering column. After market tie rods, front sway bar can be bolted to lower A-arm, not to be welded to frame.
20. Transmission coolers or oil coolers are allowed. Can have transmission protector but must use stock tranny crossmember. No added metal to crossmember or any kind.
21. Car must bounce. Upper A-arm may be bolted using a 3/8th bolt in center or wired for bumper height ( NO WELDING)
22. Any year factory bumpers allowed. Must remain stock, no adding metal ,but seam welding allowed. Also must use factory bumper shocks and No rear shocks in the front. Bumpers can be hardnosed.. You can weld bumper brackets but can not add any metal or gussets. No excessive welding!!
23. Slip shaft are allowed with rear end braces but no kicker to rails.
24. Trunk lids can be welded with 8 6” plates, use no bigger than a 2”x 1/8” plate/strip. Can not touch but has to have 6” space between plates.Or you can remove last four body bolts and replace with 5/8 allthread and it can go through the trunk. Trunk can swag but rear quarters must be in stock location. Also needs to be a 8” x 8” hole cut for inspection. If not there when you come through inspection we will cut one for you. Body creasing is allowed but two layers of sheet metal only. Window bars are allowed from back glass to lower part of speaker deck, not to trunk lid in anyway and can not connect to roll bar.
25. Can pitch front rails by ONLY cutting outside flap and then pulling down and re-welding that flap with only one pass of weld. No excessive welding.
26. Rear control arms can be modified but must use factory ones.
28. Roll over bars are mandatory. Must be straight up and down.
29. You may use 1” all thread in core support with 3” max spacer.
30. No plating or skinning of body what so ever. Floor boards are only to be patched with factory size sheet metal only. No patching to body what so ever.
31. No painted frames.
32. No black cars are allowed.
33. LEAF SPRINGS: Must stay in original factor position.
9 leaf maximum 5/16” max thickness, 2 ½ “ wide maximum.
58” minimum , 60” maximum spring length.
Stagger- 3” long side ( rear of axle), 2” short side ( Front of axle)
3 clamps per spring, 1 in front of the axle, 2 behind the axle.
Clamp material ¼” thick. 2” wide, 2 – 3/8” bolts per clamp.
U-bolts – 7/16” maximum, stock mounting plates must be used. The older Fords are allowed ½” u-bolts as they were stock for those years.
No homemade mounting plates or oversized u-bolts will be allowed.
No welding on the spring pack.
No flat sprung cars- leaf pack must have a minimum of 2” of arch.
No duct taping of springs prior to inspection.
34. No connecting body to bumpers or frame in anyways. Means no straps running from the trunk to back bumper or from the core support to the front bumper, Etc.
35. Pre ran cars are allowed but must follow all rules listed above!
36. These are the rules, follow these rules and do not add to them. You will be inspected no more than two times. After the 2nd time you will have to pay a re-inspecting fee. If it doesn't say you can do it then don' t do it. THESE RULES WILL BE ENFORCED AND WE HAVE THE FINAL SAY!! WE ARE NOT SCARED TO MAKE YOU LOAD UP. WE WANT A FAIR SHOW THAT ALLOW EVERYBODY THAT WANTS TO COMPETE.
37. All entry fees will be paid at the gate. If we say you fail inspection that’s it, you will not get a refund.
