As being talked about on WeCrash.com, everyone (drivers/fans/promoters) are getting to action wanting every show to have this mandatory! I agree!
Your safety while you are strapped in is FIRST and foremost important! You have your cage protecting your sides, a roll over bar protecting the top middle of the roof...how about the empty space above your head from that roll bar to the windshield bars! My head is important to me and hope to never see or hear of any other tragedy like at B@TB.
quoted directly from a WeCrash user: "I am writing my rules for my 2013 season and will add optional bars on derby cars and trucks that will go from the now mandatory roll over bar and will go forward up the roof and down onto the dash bar and will call it "Littlejohn" bars."
How many promoters are going to change and allow this rule?? Any feedback???
These cars are being built harder and harder, so we gotta keep up with the safety elements if builds continue as they are!
I miss the semi stock show or hell strictly stock shows, but even with them Safety is going to come first and a car may not be stock with a cage and halo, but safety is stock for a person!!! Promoters can have an outlaw class for the drivers whom want to run it and give the others opportunity to run that outlaw class based on their builds or not passing the specifics for the class they wanted to be apart of, that would be their choice & hopefully they too express their safety concerns! Cut it, load it or go to the class they offer you!
As well as bumper heights! No more wedge/ramped cars! I dislike em! If you're not at bumper height, i believe you should have to cut the frame at a point you choose and roll the back end of your car up creating that bumper height. No ramp/wedged cars! That's set up for a flip right off the line!
These are just my opinions, and no one has to agree with them. But, I love the sport just like everyone else & sometimes an opinion matters to the right person!
RIP Gary Littlejohn!!
