Power Wheels Demolition Derby Rules
1. Ages: 4-8 years old only 2. 12 volt power wheels only 3. 1 power wheels 12 volt battery or equal 4. Stock tires 5. Nothing added for strength. (Basically just like you bought them from the store.)

Please read the rules carefully as some parts have been re-worded or have something new added to them. I have highlighted those changes in RED.
2014 Big Car Preparation & Building
1. All cars must have a cage in order to run! Safety Precaution Only!! 2. Any Year Sedans and 1980 Newer Wagons only. No Imperials, Hearses, Roundback wagons or leaf sprung cars. 3. All glass, chrome molding, hood latches, gas tanks, and rear seats must be removed before cars arrive at the fairgrounds. 4. Stock type hood must be used. Hoods must be open for inspection. Hoods must be secured in 6 places with 2” by 2” x ¼ angle. NO longer than 6” with 3/8th bolts. 5. THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT MUST BE IN WORKING ORDER. 6. Gas tanks must be relocated behind driver’s seat, securely fastened and covered. Any visible leaking fuel will result in automatic disqualification. All plastic tanks must be in a steel enclosure. However, it cannot be bolted to strengthen the car. 7. Radiators must stay in original location. May be wired on all four corners. 8. You may run electric fan. 9. Batteries must be moved to the passenger’s side floor board. The battery box cannot strengthen the car in any way. NO more than 2 batteries. 10. No welding on frames or body seams. This will be checked. No plated frames. 11. Cutting the ends off bumpers and fenders for clearance is permitted. 12. All cars must sit level within 5” with no car sitting lowers than 16” from the bottom of the bumpers or higher than 21” from the bottom of the bumpers. The bottom of the frame rail should be 13” to the ground. No wedge cars. 13. Sunroofs have to be covered, no exceptions. Any type of fan has to be covered. 14. Factory condensers only. They may be wired in, not welded. 15. A welded 4-point cage can be put around driver’s compartment. It has to be no bigger than 4x6 inches and can be welded to car but not excessively. The front bar has to be 5 inches from the firewall and tunnel. The back cage bar no further back than 12”s past driver/passenger door posts. You can wire cage to rails in 4 places using # 9 wire or 2” ratchet straps. 16. Factory body bolts and bushings must be stock. Broken body bolts cannot be fixed. If broken, leave broken. 17. Motor swaps, rear end swaps, pulley protectors and engine cradles are allowed. 18. No distributor protectors are allowed at all. 19. You can use aftermarket steering column. After market tie rods, front sway bar on new model can be bolted to lower A-arm, not to be welded to frame. 20. Transmission coolers or oil coolers are allowed. No transmission protectors at all. 21. Car must bounce. Upper A-arm may be bolted using a 3/8th bolt in center, or wired for bumper height (no welding). 22. Any year factory bumpers which can be welded are allowed. DEC bumpers are allowed. Loaded factory bumpers are allowed, but no extreme pointed bumpers. 12” bumper shocks for new models must be inside frame rail. Old models can weld bumper bracket with one weld pass. You may modify a back bumper maximum ¼” thick of 2”x5” tubing. Back bumper cannot be loaded and ends cannot be capped. 23. Slip shaft are allowed with rear end braces but no kicker to rails. 24. Trunk lids can be welded with 8 plates, maximum of 6” long, 1/8th x 3 “thick material with 6” of space between them. Trunk needs to be standing up until after inspection then can swag with rear quarters to remain standing. Body creasing is allowed. Window bars are allowed from back glass to lower part of speaker deck, not to truck lid in any way. This is for safety. It must be a factory car trunk lid with a 12” inspection hole cut into it! 25. Can pitch front rails by ONLY cutting outside flap and then pulling down and re-welding that flap with one pass of weld. 26. NO WELDING except bumpers and motor mounts. 27. Roll over bars are mandatory. Must be straight up and down. 28. You may use 1” all thread in core support or 1” max tubing in core support. No welding of the tubes down the side of the frame. The factory eye where the all thread is, you can do away with the factory eye and use a ¼” thick by 3” wide plate, and can only go from seam weld of the rail out. Core support spacers can only be a maximum of a 5” spacer, this will be strictly enforced! May shorten rails 4” maximum in front of factory eye. Factory eye must remain in factory location. 29. Doors can be welded shut using 3” by 1/8” thick material. Weld 6” inches, skip 6” inches.
2014 MINI CAR PREPERATION & BUILD
1. Wheelbase must not exceed 102” for RWD cars and 108” for FWD uni-body cars only. NO EXCEPTIONS. 2. No shortening “snubbing” of frames- front or back. No moving of axles to shorten wheel base. 3. Must be powered by four or six cylinder engines. NO V8s. 4. NO LEAFING MINI CARS- ex. (No adding of extra leafs to existing leafs. No coil to leaf spring conversions). No four-wheel drive vehicles. 5. NO HUMP PLATES 6. Stock gas tank MUST be removed. Gas tanks must be relocated behind driver’s seat, securely fastened and covered. Any visible leaking fuel will result in automatic disqualification. All plastic tanks must be in a steel enclosure. However, it cannot be bolted to strengthen the car. 7. All glass, chrome molding, hood latches, gas tanks, and rear seats must be removed before cars arrive at the fairgrounds. 8. Stock type hood must be used. Hoods must be open for inspection-and cannot be bent down in front of radiator. Hoods can be secured in 6 places with 2” by 2” x ¼ angle (NO longer than 6” with 3/8th bolts) or #9 wire in 6 places. You may use 1” all thread only in core support with 3” max spacer, but this will count as 2 of your 6 places! The factory rubber bushing between the sub-frame and frame must remain using the 1” all thread. 9. THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT MUST BE IN WORKING ORDER. 10. Radiators must stay in original location and can be wired on all four corners. You may run electric fan. Factory condensers only and they may be wired in, not welded. 11. Batteries must be moved to the passenger’s side floor board. The battery box cannot strengthen the car in any way. NO more than 2 batteries 12. No welding on frames or body seams. This will be checked. No plated frames. 13. Cutting the ends off bumpers and fenders for clearance is permitted. 14. Sunroofs must be covered, no exceptions. 16. CAGE or DRIVERS DOOR BAR IS MANDATORY!!! A welded 4-point cage can be put around driver’s compartment. It has to be no bigger than 4” x 6” inches and can be welded to car but not excessively. The front bar has to be 5” from the firewall and tunnel. Back cage bar no further back than 12”s past driver/passenger door posts. NO KICKERS AT ALL OF ANY KIND (OUTER, INNER, DOWN, OR UP)! Roll over bars are mandatory! Roll over bar must be straight up and down. Gas tank can sit on or in a steel protector coming off the back cage bar but not touch any sheet metal. Must be “floating”. Gas tank proctors size cannot exceed more than 2” in length or width of standard fuel cell/gas tank. Standard Size fuel cell measurements are: 12" long x 10" wide so add 2”s to each and that will be recommended size. NO EXCESSIVE PROTECTOR!! 17. Motor swaps and rear end swaps are allowed. Slip shafts are allowed. 18. No protectors at all. 19. You can use aftermarket steering column, after market tie rods. Front sway bar cannot be welded. 20. Transmission coolers or oil coolers are allowed. No transmission protectors at all. 21. Any year factory bumpers which can be welded are allowed. Loaded factory bumpers or homemade (McCollum/DEC type) bumpers are allowed, but no extreme pointed bumpers, you will either cut the extreme point off or grind it down. Bumper shocks not to exceed 12”, they will be measured from back of bumper where the shocks are mounted/bolted/welded! 22. Doors and trunk can be welded shut using 3 inch by 1/8th inch thick material. Weld 6 inches, skip 6 inches. Trunk must have open 12” hole to see inside. Body creasing and pre-bending is allowed. No wedge cars, quarter panels must remain up. 1 window bar is allowed from back glass to lower part of speaker deck. This is for safety only! 23. NO WELDING except bumpers and motor mounts.
Mower Rules
1. Mower must be a factory available mower. Lawn or garden mower. No Home Made Frames! 2. No rear engine lawn mowers are allowed. 3. Engine must be factory mower engine such as briggs and stratton, Onan, Tecumseh, etc. 4. All frame modifications and frame reinforcing will be allowed. 5. Transaxles must be factory available mower transaxles but any reinforcing and/or welding of spider gears in permitted. 6. Engine bay reinforcing is permitted but must be contained inside the hood of hood and must maintain factory body lines. 7. All mowers must run factory hood and fenders. Have the hood screwed down or welded down to dash panel around drivers area. if hood is fiverglass you can make one out of sheet metal only but must be the same size as the fiberglass one. 8. Mowers must have good brakes, forward and reverse gears at the start of the heat. 9. Gas tank must be secured down and have a cap on it. Any gas at all leaking, you will be asked to shut it down. 10. Leg gaurds are mandatory and must be bolted and/or welded on from rear fender to front of foot rest or frame. Call if questions. 11. A rear bumper is permitted but is not allowed to extend more than 4" out and it must stay between the tires. No spikes, sharp edges or any pertusions allowed. Bumper can be home made with I/H beam or square tubing. 12. Regearing and changing pulleys to increase speed is permitted and encouraged. 13. Any and all drive train modifications is permitted but must stay belt driven. 14. All mower must use lawn mower type wheels, tractor treads and cut tires will be permitted but no tire chains or dual wheels will be allowed. 15. Mower decks must be removed. 16. All head lights and any other glass and plastic must be removed before you enter the pits. 17. Batteries must be removed from mower and only used to jump start the mower before the heat begins. If a pull star is used driver will not be permitted to restart engine during heat. 18. No front bumpers. You can build up the front of the frame and underneath the grill to hit with. The front of the mower must be a smooth finish for safety reasons. 19. Role over: Driver is out of the heat. Also, if a driver touches the ground with a hand or foot, driver is out of heat. 20. For safety, if a mower does roll over, drivers must stop and wait until that driver up rights his mower and gets off the track. 21. Please put your number on each side of mower or helmet so we can track the winners. 22. All ground rules will be gone over in drivers meeting before the heat.

i know theres quite a few big derbies down in yalls neck of the woods and id like to come watch one but i have such a hard time deciding between sturgis, country boy and this one, theres no way i have the time or money to come to all or two of them but id like to come to atleast one of the big shows because no one puts on a real big one in central ky, about how many cars do yall usually get?

Saturday will be a big day in Scottsville. Come make a Day of it. There will be a street festival all day in Downtown area. Come on early and enjoy. If you have a car take it to the fairgrounds and leave it then go enjoy the festival.
