Outlaw Small Car Derby
Burkesville, Ky. Wednesday July 31, 2013 7:00pm
Inspection begins at 3:00 pm
$50 entry fee
*All drivers must have a valid driver’s license. NO PERMITS ALLOWED. Minors must have a release signed by a parent or guardian.
*Driver’s license must be present in order to register. NO License—you will not be allowed to run.
*No alcohol will be allowed in the fairgrounds. Anyone under the influence will be escorted off the grounds.
*Everyone must stay out of the ring except for judges and fair officials. If you leave your car you must go behind the fence while heats are in progress.
*Any driver, pit crew, family member, girlfriend, etc. that fights or argues with any officials will cause the car and driver to be disqualified.
1. All glass, chrome molding, hood latches, gas tanks and rear seats must be removed before cars arrive at the fairgrounds.
2. Helmets, seat belts and eye protection must be worn at all times.
3. THE DRIVER’S SIDE SEATBELT MUST BE IN WORKING ORDER.
4. Gas tanks must be relocated behind drivers’ seat, securely fastened and covered. Any visible leaking fuel tank will result in automatic disqualification. All plastic tanks must be in steel enclosure.
5. The judges’ decision is final. We may reject any or all entries at any time. Cars are subject to re-inspection at any time.
6. Wheelbase is not to exceed 108 inches.
7. Four cylinders and front wheel drive V-6.
8. Four point cage required.
9. Homemade bumpers are allowed.
10. Door and trunk can be welded solid with 3”x1/4” steel. Any other metal added to car must be inside car.
11. If you show up under built that’s your fault!
Heat trophies will be given for last 2 cars advancing to feature
Mad Dog will also advance to feature no trophy.

THE DECISION OF THE JUDGES AND DERBY OFFICIALS WILL BE FINAL
1.All big cars must be 1980 and newer sedans and wagons only.
2. All glass, chrome molding, hood latches, gas tanks, and rear seats must be removed before cars arrive at the fairgrounds.
3. Stock type hood must be used. Hoods must be open for inspection. Hoods must be secured in 6 places with wire only.
4. Helmet, seatbelt, and eye protection must be worn at all times.
5. THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT MUST BE IN WORKING ORDER.

14. Cutting the ends off bumpers and fenders for clearance is permitted.
15. Drivers will pay entry fee prior to the car being inspected. If you have to correct a problem, you will be given ONE chance to make it right, otherwise you will load it!
17. DOUBLE TEAMING - YOU WILL BE WARNED ONCE, SECOND TIME YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
18. You will have a 1 minute time limit to make an aggressive hit.
19. ANY DRIVER, PIT CREW, FAMILY MEMBER, GIRLFRIEND, ETC. THAT FIGHTS OR ARGUES WITH ANY
OFFICIALS WILL CAUSE THE DRIVER AND CAR TO BE DISQUALIFIED.
20. No alcohol will be allowed in the fairgrounds. Anyone under the influence will be escorted off the grounds.
21. There will be a 200.00 protest fee.
22. All cars must sit level within 5" with no car sitting lower than 16" from the bottom of the bumpers or higher
than 21" from the bottom of the bumpers.
23. Sunroofs have to be covered, no exceptions. Any type of fan has to be covered.
24. Factory condensers only. They may be wired in, not welded.
25. A welded 4-point cage can be put around driver's compartment. It has to be no bigger than 4x6 inches and
can be welded to car but not excessively. The front bar has to be 5 inches from the firewall and tunnel.
26. Factory body bolts and bushings must be stock. Broken body bolts cannot be fixed. If broken, leave broken.
27. Motor swaps, rear end swaps, and engine cradle swaps are allowed. NO aftermarket axels.
28. No protectors at all.
29. You can use an aftermarket steering column.
30. Transmission coolers or oil coolers allowed. No transmission protectors or steel bellhousings.
31. Car must bounce.
32. Any year factory bumpers which can be welded are allowed. DEC bumpers are allowed. Must be able to see inside bumper.
33. Slip shafts are allowed. No modified sway bars, or skid plates.
34. Trunk lids must be open for inspection after inspection they can be wired shut in 6 places using #9 wire. Body creasing is allowed.
35. No pitching or creasing of frames, but you can notch rear frame.
36. NO WELDING except bumpers and motor mounts.
37. If the rules don't say you can do it, then don't.
38. Rollover bars permitted, but must be straight up and down.
39. You may use 1" all thread in core support with 3" max spacer
40. Doors can be welded shut using 3 inch by 1/8th inch thick material. Weld 6 inches skip 6 inches.
41. No homemade bumper shocks or back glass bars.
42. 98 up can have watts conversion but must be done so that they still bounce.

Lawnmower Derby

Entry fee $20.00
1.Mower must be a factory available lawnmower or garden mower.(No homemade frames)
2.No rearend lawnmowers allowed.
3,Engine must be a factory lawnmower engine example:Briggs and Stratton,Tecumseh,Onan or etc(22hp max)
4.All modification and frame reinforcing will be allowed. Front end of mower cannot be lower than 6".No Slopes allowed
5.Transaxles must be factory mower transaxels, but any reinforcements and or welding of spider gears is allowed.
6.Engine bay reinforcement is allowed but must be inside of hood and must maintain factory body lines. Front of mower can 18" past front. Motor has to be covered.
7.All mowers must have the hood either screwed or welded down to dash panel around drivers area. All mower must have an 8x8 hole incase of fire.
8.Mower must have working breaks, foward and reverse gears at the start of derby.
9.Gas tank must be secured and have a cap on it.(If any gas is found to be leaking you will be asked to shut the mower down) No rear gas tanks or any underneath seat.
10.Leg guards are mandatory and must be bolted or welded from rear fender to front of foot rest or frame.
11.A rear bumper is allowed, but is not allowed to extend more than 4" out and it must stay in between tires. Also no spikes or sharp edges or any protrusions allowed. Bumper can be homemade with I/H beam or square tubing bumper must be 6”off ground
12.Re-gearing and changing of pulley’s is allowed to increase speed and it is encouraged.
13.Any and all drive train modification is allowed but must stay belt driven
14.All mowers must use lawnmower type wheels. Tractor treads and cut tires will be allowed but no tire chains or duel wheels
15.Mower deck must be removed
16. All headlights and any other glass or plastic must be removed before you enter the fairgrounds
17.Batteries must be removed from mower and only used to jump start the mower before the derby begins. If a pull start is used driver will not be allowed to restart engine during derby
18.You can build up the front of the frame and underneath the grill to hit with.The front of the mower must be a smooth finish for safety 4”x4” tubing bumper inside of wheels
19.If at anytime the drivers hands or feet touch the ground to stop them self from rolling over you will be disqualified
20.Mower must have a kill switch
21.Everything must be inside the tires except 2”overhang on side of rear tires. Front and back tires must be open
